About Blue Plaques

Blue Plaques is affiliated to the Great Yarmouth Local History and Archaeological Society.

Since 1981, the Great Yarmouth Local History and Archaeological Society has marked important heritage buildings in the town by facilitating the installation of over one hundred blue plaques on various locations in and around Great Yarmouth. Each Blue Plaque forms a permanent sign that is installed at a public place to commemorate a link between that location and a famous person, event, or former building on the site, serving as a historical marker to provide information and increase interest in local heritage and culture.
