Save the date for March 3-5, 2025!

The 7th Annual Urology Advocacy Summit in Washington, DC is an event designed to expand, strengthen and unify the voice of urology on policy matters impacting our practices and patients. As always, we will be engaging Sections, urologic specialty organizations and patient advocacy organizations alike.

The dynamic conference will feature two days of in-person educational and trending policy sessions with an opportunity for attendees to earn continuing medical education credits. It also will include a day of Capitol Hill meetings. The event will leave participants feeling empowered and well-versed in advocating for policy matters that impact our practices, patients and the future of urology.

2024 Keynote Speakers

Donna Brazile

Donna Brazile

Renowned Political Strategist and Commentator, Former Interim Chair of the Democratic National Committee.

Veteran political strategist Donna Brazile has twice served as the interim Chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC). She has worked on every major presidential campaign since 1976 and in 2000 she became the first Black woman to serve as the manager of a major party presidential campaign, running the campaign of former Vice President Al Gore.

Ms. Brazile has devoted her life to working for progressive change, responsible governance, and the advancement of all people in a society that is fair and equitable. She loves working with young people, encouraging them to vote, to run for office, and to work within the system to strengthen it. She has lectured at over 225 colleges and universities on such topics as: Inspiring Civility in American Politics, Why Diversity Matters, and Women in American Politics.

Ms. Brazile is currently an ABC News Contributor and was formerly a contributor to FOX News and CNN. Ms. Brazile moonlights as an actress and is especially honored to have made appearances on CBS’ The Good Wife, Netflix’s House of Cards, and BET's Being Mary Jane. Ask her and she’ll tell you that acting, after all, is the key to success in politics.

Lindsey Herrel MD, MS

Lindsey Herrel MD, MS

Lindsey Herrel MD, MS is an Assistant Professor in the Divisions of Urologic Oncology and Health Services Research in the Department of Urology. Dr. Herrel received her Medical Degree from Saint Louis University and completed her urology residency at Emory University. She completed her urologic oncology fellowship and received a master’s in health and healthcare research from the University of Michigan where she joined the faculty in 2017. Her primary area of research interests is evaluating the impact of health care policy on vulnerable populations with cancer. She also works to understand issues related to the future of the urologic workforce. Clinically, she focuses on care for patients with advanced bladder and kidney cancers.
