The APABA-DC Women’s Forum is pleased to present its

Signature AAPI Heritage Month Event:

Speak Up and Speak Out: AAPI Women Voices Rising

In the multicultural and multi-faceted world in which we live, it is critical to make room for and amplify voices and share the stories and perspectives of all. Authentic and accurate representation opens us to new ideas, creates role models, breaks down barriers (and bamboo ceilings), and serves to inspire us to be our best. In particular, media - in all of its forms – holds transformative power to shape ideas and influence societal behavior.

Join us as we hear personal stories, insights, and wisdom from extraordinarily talented AAPI women creatives trailblazing paths in the fields of entertainment, journalism, and literature. AAPI are an intrinsic part of the historical foundations, present, and future of the United States. The ability to tell our story and raise our voices is critical to claiming our place and space and ensuring we are represented in every facet of American culture, history, and society.

Moderator:     Angeline Chen, Co-Chair of the APABA-DC Women’s Forum

Panelists:        Tanya Tianyi Chen, journalist and senior reporter at Business Insider

Angie Kim, author of international bestseller and Edgar winner Miracle Creek
