FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fort Valley State University (FVSU) is set to undergo a renovation project for three of its major buildings: Founders Hall, Lyons, and Bywaters. All of them were built between 1929 and 1966.

The renovation project aims to provide modern amenities to students and faculty members, ensuring the campus has everything it needs for current and future students.

The project was officially launched with a ceremony on Thursday.

Timothy Hatchett, the Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at FVSU, believes the renovation project will significantly impact students. He said that the Lyons Building will serve as the hub for the university, where students will be able to find all their resources in one centralized location.

“They will be able to access academic advising, career services, civic engagement, testing, tutoring and more,” he said.

The Bywaters building will be the nursing building and the Founders building will have classrooms.
