"Uganda’s constitutional court...cited the US Supreme Court decision overturning #RoevWade in its ruling to uphold the majority of a sweeping anti-gay law that criminalizes homosexuality and same-sex marriage, and allows for convictions of up to life in prison and the death penalty in some cases." According to the UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights, nearly 600 people “have been subjected to human rights violations and abuses” based on gender identity or sexual orientation since the law took effect last year. https://lnkd.in/eH6P65FB

The Fund for Global Human Rights mourns the passing of Honduran activist Rosa Nelly Santos, co-founder of long-time Fund grantee COFAMIPRO. We were honored to work with her for more than a decade, and offer our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and allies. Rosa Nelly was an indomitable force for truth and justice in Honduras. As a founder of COFAMIPRO—the Committee of Families of Disappeared Migrants of El Progreso—she advocated fiercely for the rights of people on the move and provided care and support to families who had lost a loved one on their migration journey. We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Rosa Nelly Santos, founder of COFAMIRPO. Rosa Nelly was an inspirational activist and powerful advocate for the rights and dignity of family members of missing migrants in Central and Latin America. A full statement will be shared shortly.

The Fund is looking for an external consultant to design and conduct a mapping of stakeholders in the philanthropic community. We want to understand how philanthropy is thinking about, and engaging with, power in its work and relationships. The consultant will be responsible for designing the methodology in coordination with the Fund, conducting data collection and analysis, co-facilitating reflection processes, and documenting findings and actionable insights. Deadline is April 19, 2024 and the budget range is $20,000-25,000 USD. You can find the full terms of reference attached.   Expressions of interest shold include the following: ✍ Resume or CV for any consultant to work directly with the Fund. ✉ A brief letter of interest explaining why you are interested in this work, your proposed team composition (if more than one person), your experience working in the human rights and/or philanthropic sectors, and at least two examples related to previous, related work, 💲 A proposed budget, including estimated number of days and daily rate or fees.
