About International Experience Canada

If you’re a Canadian citizen aged 18 to 35, International Experience Canada (IEC) offers you the opportunity to work and travel abroad. We have agreements with over 35 countries and foreign territories providing a path to a work permit or visa for you to work and explore. Our agreements are reciprocal. This means that youth from these countries and territories can work and travel in Canada.

To legally work abroad, you need to apply for a work permit from the country or territory that you’ll be working in. Depending on the destination, you may be able to work and travel for up to 2 years through the IEC program.
