The Baltic Sea Region is home to numerous cultures and societies. Through interdisciplinary scholarly discussions, the Slavic Reference Service and the Association for the Advancement of Baltic Studies invite graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scholars in all disciplines to discuss the theme of Resistance.
Individual papers, panels, and roundtables may explore the many representations, manifestations, and expressions of resistance in historical discourse, art and literature, music, and politics. Papers and presentations may be derived from any stage of the research process; the intention of the forum is to provide an open space for discussion and feedback.
Sub-themes of this iteration of the Research Forum include:
- Art and Literature
- Diasporas
- Alliances
- Social Movements
- Exiles
Participants are welcome to present in any language, but we ask participants to provide an accompanying English translation of their remarks.
The forum will be held virtually on October 12th-13th, 2023.
Zoom details will be shared after registration.
