2022 Senior National Championships

The 2022 Senior National Championships is an OPEN competition, Australia Citizenship is not required.

Categories

Wrestlers (or an adult their behalf where the wrestler is a < 18 yrs old) must register online.

  • Competition fees are set at $100 at following weight divisions:.
    • Male Freestyle kgs  U/17: 41-45; 48; 51; 55; 60; 65; 71; 80; 92; 110.
    • Male Freestyle kgs  U/20 and Seniors: 57; 61; 65; 70; 74; 79; 86; 92; 97; 125.
    • Male Greco kgs  U/20 and Seniors:  55; 60; 63; 67; 72; 77; 82; 87; 97; 130.
    • Women Wrestling kgs U/17:  36-40; 43; 46; 49; 53; 57; 61; 65; 69; 73.
    • Women Wrestling kgs U/20 and Senior:  50; 53; 55; 57; 59; 62; 65; 68; 72; 76.
  • No weight changes are permitted after the registraton deadline 
  • For those who would like to enter a second division, please send the details to wrestlingact@gmail.com titled 2nd Division Entry, where we will enter you manually for a discounted fee of $30

 

  • Age Categories
    • The age categories are as follows:
      • U/17 : 16 - 17 years (from 15 with medical and parental certificate)
      • U/20:  18 - 20 years (from 17 with medical and parental certificate)
      • Seniors : 20 years and older
        • Wrestlers in the U/20 category are allowed to participate in the competition for Seniors.  However, wrestlers ages 18 in the year concerned must provide a medical certificate and parental authorisation.  Wrestlers aged 17 in the year in question may not participate in the Senior Category.
  • State Membership – All competitors must be a 2022 ACT Members or a member of a representative state. 
  •  Covid Safe - It is an AIS requirements that all participants provdie proof that they are double vaccinated.  Please provide proof of vacaination with registration.

Weigh in for all age classes 7:00 - 7:30 am
Competition starts at 9.30am

 

Sports Integrity Australia Education 

  • All athlete competing in the Senior age category must complete the following Sports Integrity Australia On-Line Courses:
  • Anti-Doping Fundamental Course 
  • Annual Update 2022
  • Courses are available here: Catalogue Entries (sportintegrity.gov.au)
  • A copy of the Sports Integrity Australia certificate of learning is to be provided to admin@wrestling.com.au by close of registration or added to the registration. 

Uniform Requirements 

Wrestlers may wear, other than the standard wrestling singlet, a two-piece outfit as follows:

Tops of close fitting elastic material that extends to the waist. Allowable items of clothing include rashguards, grappling shorts and bike shorts. 

Short-sleeved or sleeveless shirt, predominantly in red or blue colour. A wrestler must bring one of each colour.

The shirt or top must be tight fitting.

For females, the shirt must completely cover the breasts at all times.

If a head covering is worn it should be firm fitting with no metal fixings.

Clothing may not have metal components, zips or buttons.

Open pockets are not permitted.

Drawstrings must be concealed at all times

Clothing must not have wording or design that is offensive or inappropriate.

Underwear must not contain hard plastic or metal components.

Wrestling boots must be worn

 

All wrestlers must wear a singlet or the alternative uniform option for weigh in.  

 

Coaching Pass 

Coaches passes are need for anyone that wants to sit in the corner for athletes.

Only those with a coaches pass will be able to coach at this event.

A coaches pass will be provided to you on the day of competition.
