Join us for a celebration

The committee of the Cantabrigian Rowing Club invites you to an event to celebrate the transformative impact that Andy Johnson had on the club and his influence elsewhere in rowing. We would be delighted if you would join us for the afternoon of Sunday 4th September.

Andy was always keen to get people out on the water, so we are kicking off our event by encouraging as many rowers and coxes as possible to take to the water. We'll gather boats near the Ditton Corner end of the Long Reach for some photographs, and then a few of the crews well amuse themselves and spectators with some informal racing.

Back at the Cantabs Boathouse, we will serve refreshments, name a boat in Andy’s memory, drink a toast and share reminiscences.

Recommended attire

Rowers are encouraged to wear kit from Cantabs or their current rowing club. Those staying on dry land are invited to wear whatever they feel comfortable in for a celebratory meeting with friends. Rowing blazers are encouraged!
