Texas Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Plan
The Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT) is developing a comprehensive framework to enable passenger EV travel across the state and spur economic development. This network will give drivers confidence and flexibility when traveling for work, recreation, or exploration regardless of distance traveled or weather conditions.
Texas is set to receive $407M over the next 5 years to create an EV charging network. Stations must be on the Alternative Fuel Corridors first then dollars can be spent on roads, not on the corridors. FHWA will not declare any corridors complete in the first year of the program.
Nominations to extend the Alternative Fuel Corridors were submitted to FHWA on Apr. 27, 2022.
