The Asian Pacific Islander (API) Renewal Facilitator Training is a four part training curriculum for API mental health providers and peer support specialists in Los Angeles County. Through four training sessions, participants will discuss API identity, trauma and self care strategies, and how to facilitate groups and support difficult conversations. The final session will put the learnings into action, and participants will leave with the knowledge and skills to facilitate renewal spaces on their own.
During the month of May, Asian American Pacific Heritage Month, the goal of the training is to build a network of racially-sensitive and trained facilitators who are experienced in responding to anti-API hate and addressing long-term mental health issues for API communities. Participants must complete all four training sessions in order to receive a stipend. In addition there will be honorariums for facilitating the two Renewal Space sessions that are part of the training.
The training is organized by Pacific Asian Counseling Services and Change Matrix, as part of the Stop Anti-Asian Hate and Violence Initiative supported by Kaiser Permanente and Asian Americans Advancing Justice.

Session 2: Friday, May 13, 2:30-4:30pm PT
Session 3: Thursday, May 19, 2:30-4:30pm PT
Session 4: Friday, May 20, 2:30-4:30pm PT

As part of the training, you will lead the facilitation of two renewal spaces after the four learning sessions.
