The Tenement Museum’s Gala on Thursday, May 2nd will celebrate Generation to Generation: A Nation of Grandchildren. During this festive, one-of-a-kind evening, we will honor family histories, commemorate our 35th anniversary, and invest in the Museum’s future.

This year, we are delighted to honor our long-time Trustee and Gala Co-Chair, Merryl Snow Zegar and her family. Over the years, Merryl and her family have been extraordinary leaders and generous supporters of the Museum. Their diverse and intergenerational family embodies our Gala theme and the Museum’s mission to build a more inclusive and expansive American identity.

The evening will celebrate our tenement family descendants and highlight the importance of bringing diverse family stories into the broader conversation on American identity. Speakers and special guests will include Jelani Cobb, Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Tony Michels, Mae Ngai and more!
