COPYWRITING INTERN - Remote

Roles & Expectations of Copywriting Intern

This role is highly collaborative with Brianna and the marketing team. Please report directly to Brianna for questions, concerns, and ideas.

Content Creation:

  • Blog Writing:

    • Generate creative and engaging blog content for Boise Fashion Week's website.

    • Research industry trends, fashion topics, and relevant themes for blog articles.

  • Email Newsletter Copy:

    • Draft compelling and informative copy for Boise Fashion Week's email newsletters.

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure alignment with promotional goals and messaging.

Editorial Planning:

  • Content Calendar:

    • Contribute to the development of an editorial calendar for blogs and email newsletters.

    • Coordinate content release schedules to coincide with key events and promotions.

  • Theme Development:

    • Work with the marketing manager to develop themes and storylines for blog series and newsletter campaigns.

    • Ensure consistency in messaging across different content pieces.

Collaboration with Marketing Team:

  • Brainstorming Sessions:

    • Participate in brainstorming sessions with the marketing team to generate creative ideas for content.

    • Contribute copywriting perspectives to integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Collaborative Editing:

    • Collaborate with the marketing manager and other team members to edit and refine copy.

    • Ensure that the tone and style align with Boise Fashion Week's brand voice.

Research and Industry Insights:

  • Fashion Industry Research:

    • Stay informed about current trends, designers, and developments in the fashion industry.

    • Infuse industry insights into blog content to keep it relevant and engaging.

  • Audience Research:

    • Research the preferences, interests, and demographics of Boise Fashion Week's target audience.

    • Tailor copywriting to resonate with the audience's preferences.

Copy Editing and Proofreading:

  • Quality Control:

    • Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of blog articles and newsletter copy.

    • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines.

  • Consistency Checks:

    • Maintain consistency in language, style, and messaging across all written materials.

    • Work with the marketing manager to address any inconsistencies.

Performance Analysis:

  • Engagement Metrics:

    • Monitor engagement metrics for blog posts and email newsletters.

    • Provide insights into the performance of written content and suggest improvements.

  • Reader Feedback:

    • Gather and analyze reader feedback to understand preferences and adjust content accordingly.

    • Use feedback to enhance the effectiveness of future copywriting efforts.

Training and Development:

  • Skill Enhancement:

    • Seek opportunities for skill enhancement in copywriting, storytelling, and content marketing.

    • Attend relevant workshops or webinars to stay updated on industry best practices.
