Roles & Expectations of Social Media Intern

This role is highly collaborative with Brianna and the PR Director. Please report directly to Brianna for questions, concerns, and ideas.

Social Media Content Creation:

  • Content Calendar:

    • Assist in creating and maintaining a social media content calendar aligned with Boise Fashion Week's promotional schedule.

    • Coordinate content release timing to maximize engagement.

  • Visual Content Creation:

    • Generate visually appealing content, including graphics, images, and short videos, to share across social media platforms.

    • Ensure that content adheres to brand guidelines and resonates with the target audience.

  • Caption and Copywriting:

    • Write engaging captions and copy for social media posts.

    • Collaborate with the PR & Communications Specialist to ensure consistent messaging.

Social Media Management:

  • Platform Oversight:

    • Manage and monitor Boise Fashion Week's presence on various social media platforms, including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

    • Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.

  • Community Engagement:

    • Foster community engagement by actively participating in conversations, discussions, and trends relevant to fashion and events.

    • Encourage user-generated content and interactions.

  • Social Listening:

    • Utilize social listening tools to monitor trends, mentions, and sentiment related to Boise Fashion Week.

    • Provide insights and recommendations based on social media analytics.

Campaign Execution:

  • Promotional Campaigns:

    • Assist in the execution of social media campaigns to promote Boise Fashion Week events and activities.

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media campaigns with overall promotional strategies.

  • Live Coverage:

    • Provide live coverage during Boise Fashion Week events, sharing real-time updates, behind-the-scenes content, and highlights.

    • Utilize Instagram Stories, Facebook Live, or other platforms for live engagement.

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Performance Analysis:

    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as engagement, reach, and follower growth.

    • Prepare regular monthly reports on social media performance for review with the Marketing Manager.

  • Insights and Recommendations:

    • Provide insights and recommendations based on social media analytics to enhance future content and strategies.

    • Stay informed about emerging trends in social media and suggest innovative approaches.

Collaboration with Marketing Team:

  • Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with the marketing team to align social media efforts with broader marketing and communication goals.

    • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for integrated campaigns.

  • Cross-Promotion:

    • Collaborate with the PR Director to ensure consistent messaging and cross-promotion across different communication channels.

    • Coordinate social media efforts with ongoing PR and marketing initiatives.

Training and Development:

  • Professional Development:

    • Stay updated on social media best practices, algorithms, and new features.

    • Seek opportunities for professional development and growth within the field of social media marketing.

  • Knowledge Sharing:

    • Share insights and new findings with the marketing team to enhance overall social media strategies.
