Nos dias 19, 20 e 21 de Maio de 2022 realiza-se na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa, no Palácio Nacional da Ajuda e na Brotéria, o Congresso Internacional intitulado Res Sinicae. “Cousas da China”. Sécs. XVI-XVIII. Este encontro científico reúne um conjunto alargado de especialistas, portugueses e estrangeiros, em relações interculturais entre a Europa e a China Ming-Qing. Com este evento assinala-se o final do projecto Res Sinicae. Base digital de fontes documentais em latim e em português sobre a China (séculos XVI - XVIII). Levantamento, edição, tradução e estudos [PTDC/LLT-OUT /31941/2017].

Partindo-se de uma conferência que problematiza a contribuição portuguesa para a Sinologia, ao longo de três dias serão apresentadas comunicações que versam temas diversos relacionados com os núcleos documentais do projecto Res Sinicae, as questões culturais, diplomáticas, linguísticas, artísticas e científicas ligadas às missões jesuítas da Ásia Oriental, assim como o desafio da tradução de Clássicos chineses e de produção de textos latinos sobre a China.

As sessões dos três dias do Congresso serão transmitidas via Zoom e os respectivos links serão remetidos a quem se inscrever previamente no endereço de email ressinicae@gmail.com.

On the 19th, 20th and 21st of May 2022, the International Conference entitled Res Sinicae. "Cousas da China". 16th to 18th century, will be held at the School of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon, at the Ajuda National Palace and at Brotéria. This scientific meeting brings together a wide range of Portuguese and foreign scholars in the field of intercultural relations between Europe and Ming-Qing China. This event marks the end of the project Res Sinicae. A Database of Latin and Portuguese Sources on China (16th-18th century). Survey, Edition, Translation and Studies [PTDC/LLT-OUT /31941/2017].

Starting with a conference that discusses the Portuguese contribution to Sinology, papers will be presented over the course of three days on various topics, related to the documentary nuclei of the Res Sinicae project, and with the cultural, diplomatic, linguistic, artistic and scientific issues related to the Jesuit missions in East Asia, as well as the challenge of translating Chinese Classics and writing Latin texts on China.

The three days of the Conference will be broadcast via Zoom, and the respective links will be made available to those who register in advance in the following email address ressinicae@gmail.com.
