How To Wander

By Eva Rogers

Wandering is something that

Not many people can find;

A sliver of peace tucked away in the eye of the storm.

It frees the mind, unchains the body,

Soothes the spirit, revives the soul.

Many look to find it, hoping for a destination,

But! Look no further than what’s hidden

Under your nose in the world’s grace.

First, put on shoes.

Do not plan anything! Just go out;

Nature or the city will provide for you.

Spontaneity is your friend, for

You need nothing more than your wits,

Your eyes, your ears, your nose,

Your feet, your sense, your bones,

And a good, sturdy pair of shoes.

Next, walk somewhere.

Do not choose where!

Let your body follow your feet

To somewhere, and so somewhere

Is where you will be.

Never set a destination, never have a plan,

Let your mind fly with the clouds

And your body wander on the ground.

Then, go further than the unknown.

Wander far, wander near,

Wander into dark forests and winding streets,

Through endless plains and busy roads.

Turn your back on the mundane paths,

Familiar, tried, and true -

Turn your gaze to the wild paths,

For even if they fall under you

Resourcefulness in its fullest,

And the land you wander,

Will save you much more completely

Than the artificial light of false worlds.

Title: How to be okay

By Toril L. Peterson

Breathe

You did everything you could

You can’t do anything else

Think

What went wrong

If anything

Talk

Release all the tension

It’s not all yours

Plan

What are you going to do next

Remember waiting is still something

Do

Action is good

Without action where would you be

Smile

Even if its on the inside

You have the right to feel happy
