9TH TRANSITION TO SERVICE

The online course request window is March 4- 22.  If you are not zoned for Service and are applying for a zone exemption, please send a paper copy of the course request form to Erin Hamilton at hamilton_erin@asdk12.org or drop it off at Service.  
It is time to get ready for next year!  You will be selecting your electives online through Student Connect.  Everything you need to know to choose your classes will be posted here.

Future Freshman Night

What: Information night for families of incoming freshman. There will be an Activities Fair to learn about sports and clubs, along with presentations about academic opportunities.

When: 2-27-24 6-8:30 pm

Where: start in Service High Gym

 

Incoming Freshman Tours of Service
What: Student led tours of Service for current 8th grade students to learn about programs and start course selection
When: 

11am-12:45

  • 3-5-24 Goldenview, NLABC, Rilke Schule, all other feeder schools and parents (registration needed by 3-1-24)

  • 3-6-24 Hanshew Cascade Mtn. Team (no registration needed)

  • 3-7-24 Hanshew Wolverine Team (no registration needed)

Introducing Freshman Academy

We will be reintroducing the Freshman Academy during the 2024-25 school year.  One aspect will be the new Freshman Career Exploration course.  Students will take this in the fall and will take Alaska Studies in the spring.  This course will help students decide which Academy to select for 10-12 grade.  To learn more about the Freshman Career Exploration course click the button below:

ONLINE COURSE ENTRY INSTRUCTIONS

Incoming Freshmen will be selecting electives only.  Your core classes will be posted once the online course request window closes.  All freshman will be taking English I, Alaska Studies, and Freshman Career Exploration.  Your math and science are based on the math class you are in now and the grades you receive. Your math teachers enter recommendations online.  Most freshmen will be taking Algebra I, Life Science, and Earth Science. BCA and Seminar classes will be entered once lottery positions are accepted.

Important: When entering your requests, please do not use alternates, simply enter all your choices in order of preference. Make sure to hit "SUBMIT" when you are finished to save your choices.

  • March 6th Hanshew team Cascade Mountain Tour of Service

  • March 7th Hanshew team Wolverine Tour of Service

  • March 21st ASD Lottery closes at 5pm

  • March 4th to May 22nd Paper copies of course request forms and changes to course requests submitted to Erin Hamilton at hamilton_erin@asdk12.org
