As of today, Kanye West’s Twitter followers are nearing 31 million. A couple of years ago, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star allegedly lost a ton of followers in relation to his support of Donald Trump. Now, he ironically has more followers than ever before.

In April of 2018, Kanye West tweeted about his love for Donald Trump. “You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone,” Kanye tweeted. “I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.” Trump responded with, “Thank you Kanye, very cool!” Following this tweet, there was a rumor that Kanye lost nine million followers. A Twitter user posted a before and after shot of Kanye’s page showing it went from 27.8M to 18.6M. The rumor seemed to be real given that many followers commented with backlash. “Kanye, you breaking my heart. I know you know better, can’t support you anymore,” one user wrote. “I hope your next album flops,” another person commented. The pictures the user shared appeared to be legit, but Twitter confirmed that West didn’t lose nine million followers. “We can confirm that Kanye’s follower count is currently at approximately 27M followers. Any fluctuation that people might be seeing is an inconsistency and should be resolved soon.” Now, Kanye’s followers have ironically increased.

At the moment, Kanye has 30.8 million followers on Twitter. He only follows 240 people, which includes Kim Kardashian West, Barack Obama, Cardi B, and Ice Cube among others. He also follows a few super fans of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. Despite Kanye’s growing Twitter followers, he hasn’t been active since November 4th. The last thing the rap artist tweeted was “KANYE 2024” with a head shot.

Earlier this year, Kanye’s reputation took a hit because of his involvement in the 2020 United States presidential election. At a public presidential rally, the rap artist revealed that he and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, contemplated the abortion of their first child, North West. Following this incident, West named his campaign “the Birthday Party” and took a pro-life stance. While campaigning, Kanye appeared to run into marital problems with Kim. She was rightfully upset that her husband revealed such a private piece of information. Since the summer, it appears that Kanye and Kim have reconciled their issues.

The fact that Kanye’s Twitter followers are increasing is ironic because he’s still involved with politics and all of his recent content is related to politics. In 2018, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star faced so much scrutiny for speaking on politics, but it appears that fans are here for it now. Leave it up to Kanye to do something radical then gain acceptance!
