 The PTA works hard to strengthen the RLMS community by supporting teachers, staff, programs and students.

 

Here are just a few of our accomplishments from last year:

• In August, we welcomed RLMS faculty & staff with gourmet lunch and homemade desserts on their first day of school.
• In September, we launched The Bulldog Buzz a casual monthly Q&A with our principal, dean and key administrators. Whether down at Penfield Beach or on our own beach chairs in the sunny auditorium lobby, this safe space has become a popular event and a model for other schools in the district. Be sure to bring your own coffee and questions and join us sometime!
• In December, we showered the RLMS faculty & staff with 5 days of holiday cheer & appreciation.
• In January & February we sold out our sections in the new Fairfield University Arena, cheering on our hometown men’s & women’s college basketball teams.
• Over the course of the year, we helped Fairfield Public Schools and Fairfield Cares bring in renowned experts to talk to families about raising healthy, less anxious kids who don’t overuse screens or substances.
• In March, we ran our annual teacher grants program receiving over $16,000 in supplemental funding requests from across the building.
  • Resourced grants included an extra AED (defibrillator) machine for the nurse’s office, remarkable guest speakers for social studies, VR goggles and support for guest speakers in world languages, field trips cool opportunities for our art teachers & students, music equipment, printing a glossy lit magazine for the first time in several years, as well as, cool chairs for a new sensory space to help student’s social emotional well-being.
• In May we once again recognized our incredible faculty and staff with Appreciation Week.
• And finally, we provided resources for both the 8^th grade dance and 8^th grade graduation ceremonies.
