Tim Harrington  CEO of BattleFin


Tim Harrington is a co-founder and CEO of BattleFin Group Inc.  BattleFin is an ecosystem focused on bringing alternative data to the world through BattleFin’s Ensemble© Technology Platform. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry.  Tim was the President and a Partner at Lion’s Path Capital, a hedge fund strategy incubator where he allocated capital to 30 fundamental and systematic portfolio managers since the launch in 2009.  From January 2006 until 2009, Mr. Harrington was a Portfolio Manager at J.P. Morgan Ventures where he was in charge of Global Technology, Media & Telecom Investments. From February 2002 until January 2006 he was a Telecom & Media Portfolio Manager at Sigma Capital, a subsidiary of SAC Capital.  Mr. Harrington graduated from Columbia College in 1998.  He was a member of the Columbia University Judiciary Board as well as a member of the varsity crew team

Adam Baron Director, Big Data Quantitative Research at Refinitiv

Adam Baron is the Director of Big Data Quantitative Research for Refinitiv in the StarMine Research team. His broad role covers the entire quant process: from identifying potential alternative data partners, through the necessary rigors of big data engineering and to the final stage of quantitative model research. He has explored many interesting content sets in search of alpha such as footfall derived from mobile phone GPS, credit/debit card transactions, satellite images, retail product pricing, job postings and trucking fleet vehicle telematics. These diverse data sets require a diverse set of technologies, foremost among them are: AWS (SageMaker, Glue, Athena), GCP (BigQuery, ML Engine), Azure, Hadoop/Spark, Python, R, and SQL. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters (now Refinitiv), Adam worked on Wall Street in FinTech at Morgan Stanley. During that time he pursued an MBA from NYU Stern in the evenings. This sparked a new career passion for quantitative finance that complemented his computer science background. Marriage eventually led him to the San Francisco Bay Area, which turned out to be the perfect location to learn about the latest and greatest artificial intelligence and machine learning advancements. Outside of work (and during normal times), Adam spends his mornings swimming and his evenings enjoying the performing arts.

Tim Gaumer Director of Fundamental Research at Refinitiv

Tim Gaumer is the Director of Fundamental Research at Refinitiv. He held the same position at StarMine, a company acquired by Refinitiv predecessor Thomson Reuters in 2008.With more than 20 years of experience conducting fundamental analysis, Tim is widely regarded as an expert helping fundamental investors apply innovative quantitative research in their investment process. Tim previously worked at several buy-side and independent research firms as an equity analyst, portfolio manager, and director of research.
Tim is a Chartered Financial Analyst and holds an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA in Corporate Finance.

Tamsin Williams Market Development Manager at Refinitiv

Tamsin Willaims is Market Development Manager at Refinitiv. Tamsin is responsible for the commercial interests of Refinitiv's Quant and Data Feeds business in EMEA. She started her journey with Reuters and Refinitiv over 10 years ago. With a high degree of revenue accountability at it’s core, she is responsible for the execution plan bringing together Marketing campaigns, Sales targeting, and Commercial execution. She is passionate about solving problems at the intersection of business, innovation, and financial technology.
