Jonathan Taylor sets Indianapolis Colts single season rushing record

On Sunday, former Wisconsin Badgers running back Jonathan Taylor became the Indianapolis Colts new single-season rushing record holder.

Jonathan Taylor carried the ball 20 times for 108 yards, giving him 1,733 rushing yards for the season.

His new rushing total now puts him in sole possession of the Indianapolis Colts single season rushing title – surpassing the likes of Eric Dickerson  (1, 659), and Edgerrin James (1,709).

Entering today’s game, the Colts were 9-0 in games that Taylor had rushed for 100+ yards, and 0-6 in games he was held under that rushing total.

That finally changed this afternoon when Indianapolis lost 23-20 to the Las Vegas Raiders.

The former two-time Doak Walker award winner has heard his name mentioned in the MVP conversation, and while it’s unlikely that he’ll win, it speaks to how impressive he’s been in his sophomore campaign.

It’s also worth mentioning that Jonathan Taylor was also the leading vote-getter among fans for this year’s Pro Bowl.

The former Wisconsin Badgers superstar is now doing on Sunday’s what he did every Saturday while donning the cardinal and white – and it’s been a pleasure to watch.
