At the Intersection of Guns and Mental Health: The Introductory Course

Did you know? According to a Pew Research Center survey, 41% of Americans either own firearms or live with somebody who does. For mental health professionals, that means you can assume nearly half of your clientele either owns a gun or lives with one.

We have partnered with CASAT Learning to educate mental health professionals about gun culture and suicide prevention. CASAT will be a huge asset in distributing our training to more mental health providers and greatly improving the accreditation process, which is currently a deterrent to our free training.

Our free course can still be taken below, and takers will receive a certificate after completing a short quiz. After that, the individuals have to apply for our course to be approved for continuing education credits needed for each professional every time they renew their license. (Most states require professional counselors to earn continuing education credits annually or biannually to renew their credentials.) CASAT Learning is already accredited as an educational provider so mental health and addiction counselors and nurses nationwide do not have to get the training approved.
