Shepherd + Edge Camp 2024 Adult Volunteer Registration

We are so excited for Shepherd + Edge Camp 2024 when we will learn about the story of John the Baptist. Shepherd + Edge Camp is our favorite week of the year - when we come together as a community and experience a fun week of fellowship for all ages!

Below are the Shepherd + Edge Camp adult volunteer opportunities. Remember there is no Shepherd Camp without our volunteers so we need your help!

Nursery care is available for all volunteers with children under 3 years.
 
The Shepherd Camp program runs from 9:00a-12:00p, Monday, June 24 to Friday, June 28.

The Edge Camp program runs Monday, June 24 to Thursday, June 27 from 9:00a-3:00p and Friday, June 28 from 9:00a-12:00p, and will be going off-campus for field trips most days.

All adults and youth who work with our children are required to attend a Safeguarding God's Children training in advance of volunteering in our program. More details about that date and time will be sent to you after you sign up.

5 Day Leader for Camper Groups: 

Responsible for small group of children for all 5 days of camp. You will be paired with an adult assistant and 1-2 youth assistants. Keep daily attendance records and greet children each day. Lead group to each rotation and assist creative teachers during rotations. Must arrive to camp at 8:30a and stay after camp each day for lunch and debrief (one hour). Time commitment: 4.5 hours daily.

Assistant Group Leader:

You will be assisting the 5 Day Group Leaders in being responsible for a small group of children.  Assistant leaders can sign up for one or multiple days of camp. Must arrive to camp at 8:30a and stay until your group of campers have been picked up. Time commitment: 3.5 hours daily.

Assistant Group Leaders will not stay after camp for lunch/debrief.

Music Leader and Assistants:

Plan and lead the children in song and music making for for all 5 days. Each day will be broken into rotations of each small group. Work with Camp Chairs to create music curriculum. Must arrive to camp at 8:30a. You will be responsible for daily clean up of the music space and prepping the room for the next day. The Music Leader will stay after camp for lunch and debrief. Time commitment: 4.5 hours daily.

Mindfulness Leader and Assistants:

Work with Shepherd Camp Chairs to plan and lead the children in mindfulness activities for all 5 days. Each day will be broken into rotations of each small group. You will be responsible for daily clean up of the space and prepping the room for the next day. The Mindfulness Leader will stay after camp for lunch/debrief. Time commitment: 4.5 hours daily.

Volunteer Hospitality Leader:
Plan and set up volunteer schedule for daily breakfast, snacks and beverage for all Shepherd Camp volunteers. Send out daily schedule and responsibility reminders to all hospitality and playground snack volunteers. Responsible for finding replacement volunteers for anyone who cancels or no shows.

* This is an opportunity for someone who can’t attend camp but can coordinate volunteers.

Camper Snack and Playground Volunteers

Work with Shepherd Camp Chairs to come up with plan for camper snacks for each day. Coordinate with volunteers to bring snacks and organize them for each day.

Monitor and supervise snack and playtime on the big and small playgrounds. Make sure water stations are full. Time commitment is 3 hours per day. 

Snack Volunteer Leader will need to be at camp at 8:30a each morning to confirm all snacks are here and direct daily snack volunteer, roughly until 9:30a.
Production Team:

Work with Shepherd Camp Co-Chairs to dream up, create, install and clean-up all decorations.

We will send follow-up communication regarding drop-in decor work days for painting backdrops, etc. in the spring.

We ask that you are available for decor install on Sunday, June 23 at noon.

We will have the nursery open for volunteers with little ones 3 and under. Do you plan to utilize the nursery?

Preferred T-shirt Size (all sizes listed are for 100% cotton adult shirts). Please note: We will only order shirts for Group Leaders and Group Leader Assistants. If you are serving in another volunteer role, please select "No shirt".
