ESPN's Recruiting Nation's Class Rankings are always evolving.

Alabama has surged on the recruiting trail this summer. The Crimson Tide sat just inside the top 25 of the class rankings at the start of June with six commits. Two months later, they have ascended to the No. 1 spot. Pushing them past Ohio State was the addition of two ESPN 300 commits, bringing their total to 16. They added a third 4-star defensive linemen to their class in Monkell Goodwine, a big man with good initial quickness and a high motor.

Having already secured verbals out of the Lone Star State from twins Tommy and James Brockermeyer - the No. 1-rated OT and center, respectively - as well top-five LB Kendrick Blackshire, Alabama continues to have success in Texas, landing QB Jalen Milroe. A one-time Texas commit, Milroe has a strong arm and possesses promising upside.

Ohio State, which had sat in the top spot for this entire cycle, now moves to No. 2, but the race for the No. 1 class is a competitive one.

Florida now gives the SEC three programs among the top five classes, as the Gators moved into that group after adding a pair of ESPN 300 defensive backs. Jason Marshall and Corey Collier, high school teammates out of Miami Palmetto, committed to the Gators in successive days, giving their class the No. 2-ranked CB in Marshall and the No. 3-rated safety in Collier.

Florida's top-10 class was not the only one to boost its ranking with a pickup out of Miami Palmetto, as the Hurricanes landed five-star DT Leonard Taylor out of that high school. The No. 2-rated defensive tackle can be a versatile and explosive defender in the trenches for Miami, and he was a key hometown commitment for that class.

Notre Dame was able to move to the cusp of the top 10 with multiple pickups, including two ESPN 300 commitments in No. 1 OG Rocco Spindler and versatile LB Prince Kollie.

Cal fans might have to wait a while until they see their team on the field again, but head coach Justin Wilcox has the Golden Bears moving in the right direction on the field. Bumping up to No. 21 and with the third-ranked class in the Pac-12, they added some depth to a class led by four-star in-state DE Derek Wilkins, a defender with upside, as he possesses a nice frame and some suddenness.

Signing the No. 27 class last cycle, Geoff Collins is trying to move Georgia Tech closer to the top 25 again. Sitting at No. 34, the Yellow Jackets landed two big, in-state commitments in four-star offensive guard Weston Franklin and three-star safety Sirad Bryant.
