Since 2002, Amy has been a senior associate and management consultant at Public Knowledge®. Amy is currently responsible for working with federal staff to determine access to the data held by the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OSCE), Division of Federal Systems, and protecting the privacy of individuals whose personal confidential data is reserved in those systems. Amy has also worked at OCSE on the Employer Services team and liaison to courts. Amy has 36 years of experience working with child support programs at the local, state, and federal levels. Her areas of expertise include privacy and data access, policy and procedures development, intergovernmental case processing, training, business process re-engineering, and change management.
She started her career as a Special Counsel to the Attorney General in Maryland, representing the state and the children’s interests in child support cases. She moved to the federal Office of Child Support Enforcement’s National Training Center, helping states implement changes brought about by the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, better known as PRWORA or welfare reform. Amy has helped over a dozen states implement new systems, develop policies and procedures for child support cases, and has assisted with inter-jurisdictional case processing. Amy is an active child support advocacy community member and serves on the Eastern Regional Interstate Child Support Association (ERICSA) board. Amy received her J.D. and A.B. degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, trained mediator. Amy enjoys traveling, cooking (and eating), and playing Mahjong when not working.
