Iowans are voting in new congressional, legislative districts. Here's how to find yours.

When early voting for Iowa's general election begins, many Iowans will be casting their ballot in a new set of congressional and state legislative district boundaries.

The new district lines were approved through last year's redistricting process, which takes place once a decade to account for changes in population.

That means your district might not look how you remember, and your incumbents may someone different than in the past.

Early voting begins Oct. 19 for the Nov. 8 general election, when statewide races like governor and U.S. senator are on the ballot, along with races for the U.S. House and Iowa Legislature, which have been altered by redistricting.

This year's elections mark the first time members of Congress and state lawmakers will be elected using the new districts. They'll take office next January, and, until then, the current representatives will serve out their terms under the existing districts.

Here are a few resources to help you look up which districts you'll be voting in for Congress, the Iowa House and the Iowa Senate.

Here's what Iowa's four new congressional districts look like. All four seats are on the ballot this year.

Here's what Iowa's 100 state House districts look like. Every seat is on the ballot this year.

Here's what Iowa's 50 state senate districts look like. Just 34 of those seats are on the ballot this year.

A map created by Iowa's nonpartisan Legislative Services Agency allows Iowans to enter their addresses and see which Congressional district, which Iowa House district and which Iowa Senate district they live in under the new lines.

Iowans can also find their precinct name and polling place and check their voter registration by going to this link on the Iowa Secretary of State's website and entering their full name and ZIP code.
