Adolf Hitler Conspiracies

By Pierce Gann

Hitler, one of the most recognizable and feared names of both the ’40s and the current day, was a man who had a reputation for being cold and cruel, a man who was responsible for the death of 6 million human beings, and a man surrounded by conspiracies only gaining more interest as the years progress. What really happened to Adolf Hitler? Well, many conspiracies claim to know the true cause, but many are different, such as:

1) Did Adolf Hitler commit suicide in a bunker via Cyanide Pill?

2) Did Adolf Hitler escape to Argentina on a German U boat?

Many conspiracies were made about Hitler, some believable some not. Who was Adolf Hitler, and did he get away?

Adolf Hitler, a notorious name within every household, was a cruel man. If the question arose of who was one of the cruelest people in history, Adolf Hitler would certainly immediately come to mind. He is responsible for leading the execution of nearly 6 million individuals during the Holocaust; one concentration camp, in particular, Auschwitz, is quite possibly one of the most famous historical landmarks from that era and is responsible for an extremely large portion of Holocaust deaths. “Nearly 1.3 million people were deported to the Auschwitz camp, alone in Nazi-occupied Poland, and more than 1.1 million perished at that camp” (Horne 1). Hitler is also widely known for his cruel ways from other doings. For example, Hitler was also responsible for the disappearance of close to 20 million dollars in art. Some believe that this resulted from his childhood anger as he dropped out of school at a young age to pursue art but was inevitably rejected from the school twice. “He was not a good student and dropped out of school to pursue art” (Thomas 1). Some of the stolen artwork by Hitler's Nazis still has not been recovered to this day, making Hitler a very relevant topic of discussion.

Adolf Hitler was cruel, but he was an extremely impulsive individual who started as a complete failure in the political world. Hitler started using the events and people around him to gain influence for himself; he was power-hungry, and influence was his fuel. Hitler began to strengthen relationships with people around him as well as people supporting his political journey which allowed him to skyrocket in success. Adolf started giving more speeches. Heartfelt speeches at that, he would gain so much political popularity that he would successfully convince the German citizens that it would be a good idea to destroy an entire race. Hitler gained lots of influence based on his emotions and enthusiasm as well as how he presented the future of Germany to the people, people then and even people now have a good chance of believing and listening to someone if their presentation is good, primarily if it benefits them, and that is precisely what Hitler had.

All things aside, Hitler was a ruthless but powerful leader. Adolf Hitler had no regard for other human life or property whatsoever, which clearly shows by his attempted execution of an entire race and his many robberies throughout his power reign. It is an excellent possibility that Adolf Hitler's problems stemmed from his childhood as he grew up fatherless(“Hitler lost his father at a young age”) and dropped out to pursue art and then was rejected twice (Thomas 1). Hitler gained most of his power through the influence and manipulation of the German people by telling them false narratives about the future of Germany, even creating Hitler Youth for the younger citizens to become active. The immense amount and severity of the manipulation and influence telling the people about how the Jews were responsible for the loss of World War I allowed Hitler to carry out his Anti-Semitic plans without fear of backlash from anybody weaker than Germany, which at the time Germany was extremely powerful (Malley 1). Hitler was cruel, influential, and eventually defeated.

In regard to Adolf Hitler, many conspiracy theories surround him; however, two of these theories have grown to extreme popularity over the years. These two seem to be the most widely known and the most widely believed through the many conspiracies. The first theory is the idea that soon after Hitler was aware of his defeat, he committed suicide via cyanide pill in one of his underground bunkers; this theory is prevalent as it would be a quick, non-messy way of committing suicide. The second theory that has risen to popularity throughout history is the idea that Hitler did not commit suicide but instead used a German U-Boat to escape to a protected area like Argentina, where he could change his identity and start a new life.

The first theory of Hitler committing suicide via cyanide pill is widely accepted as there has never been any hard evidence to prove Adolf Hitler was living another life. Due to the severe lack of information on it, Hitler was declared dead on April 30, 1945. This theory is what most people go by when asked about Hitler, but there is just one fundamental flaw with this theory. Hitler's body was never recovered. It is possible that he wished for his subordinates to dispose of his and his wife's bodies via cremation. "Hitler and Braun's bodies were hastily cremated in the chancellery garden, as Soviet forces closed in on the building" (Onion 1). However, this was never officially proved to be factual and remains in speculation.

The second theory in question is not quite as popular of a belief. However, it is still a reasonably strong theory that many people believe. It is pretty surprising that this theory is not widely known or accepted as it is one of the more robust theories as, in recent years, more and more evidence has been uncovered suggesting that Adolf Hitler fled to Argentina to start a new life. One of the main pieces of evidence was found a few years back and was a crucial piece of evidence. The finding was a German Submarine / U-Boat sunk on the coast of Argentina; this piece of evidence is so important because it backs up the theory that Adolf Hitler escaped to Argentina. The only problem with this theory is that the Germans had "produced a range of miniature submarines that were supposed to be used to counter an Allied invasion" (Mustermann 1). It is not confirmed whether this discovery was a German U-Boat or, in fact, one of the miniature submarines. However, the discovery itself is groundbreaking as it provides a new lead into what really happened to Adolf Hitler. It is much more widely believed that Hitler committed suicide in his bunker; however, with these findings, people may change their perspective on what went down that day.

To tie together all of this information, it is exceptionally possible Hitler committed suicide; however, with the substantial lack of evidence, it is extremely hard to say; although with the discussion of the U-Boat / Submarine, the second theory may rise to popularity in coming years with new cutting-edge technology. Both of these theories are well believed and make sense, but only one has evidence supporting it.

After much research and examination on the mysterious disappearance of Adolf Hitler, we really have two main conspiracies to think about:

  1. Did Hitler commit suicide in a bunker via Cyanide Pill?

  1. Did Hitler escape to Argentina on a German U-Boat

Almost 80 years later, people still have not forgotten about the horrific things Adolf Hitler did to this world. Unfortunately, his story as to how he disappeared remains a theory, and as the year's progress, we only get further and further from the truth; maybe one day we will finally know the truth about what happened to Adolf Hitler.
