Event Details

The QPR Gatekeeper training is recommended for any interested community members including parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, doctors, nurses, office supervisors, caseworkers and many others. A “gatekeeper” is anyone who is likely to have firsthand contact with someone who may be suicidal.

Like CPR for the heart, QPR is a life-saving measure. QPR stands for Questions, Persuade, Refer. Participants will learn to:
  • Recognize suicide warning, including direct and indirect verbal clues, behavioral clues and situational clues
  • Question a person about their distress and thoughts of suicide
  • Persuade them to get help
  • Refer them to a mental health provider or other professional
The FIRST 20 Registrants will get the Self Care Kits
