Video shows man dumping pregnant girlfriend’s body on Queens expressway

Disturbing video released early Tuesday shows a man dragging his pregnant girlfriend’s lifeless body out of a car and dumping her on the side of an expressway in Queens.

The clip, tweeted by NYPD Chief of Detectives Rodney Harrison, allegedly shows 29-year-old Goey Charles yanking the body of Vanessa Pierre, also 29, out of a light-colored car and leaving her on the ground on Horace Harding Expressway in Bayside shortly before 3 a.m. Friday.

In one chilling detail, Queens prosecutors said Pierre was still moving in the backseat of the 2019 white Dodge Challenger but is seen motionless after Charles opens the rear door and reaches inside.

He’s shown getting back in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, which is registered in Pierre’s name before the video cuts off.

A passerby reported finding Pierre’s body around 6 a.m. and notified police, the Queens District Attorney Office said in a release.

Charles was picked out of a photo array and arrested Monday.

“This is a heartbreaking case,” DA Melinda Katz said in a statement. “A pregnant woman was allegedly killed by this defendant — the father of her unborn child. Her family is devastated.”

“The defendant is in custody and will answer for his alleged actions,” Katz said.

Charles was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge Tuesday.

The city medical examiner’s office confirmed Tuesday morning that Pierre had been strangled. She died of asphyxia due to compression of the neck, and the death has been ruled a homicide, a spokeswoman said.

Pierre had a sweatshirt wrapped around her neck and was dressed in an orange shirt and red pajamas, with a sock on one foot, police sources said at the time.

Authorities arrested Charles, of Uniondale, NY, three days later, around 6 p.m. Monday, cops said. He was charged with second-degree murder.

Both Pierre and Charles are from Long Island — she lived in Hempstead and he is a Uniondale resident, cops said.

Pierre, a nurse practitioner, was six months pregnant with Charles’ child, a girl, who would have been named Libby Egypt, her sister, Melissa Pierre, 27, told the Post Tuesday.

“She loved him and she wanted a family but I told her this man is not it,” Melissa said. “I kept telling her this man is not it. Something was just off about him. He was a pathological liar. They moved really fast, been together about a year, less than that. From what it looked like, it looked like he wasn’t really working.”

“That wasn’t his car,” she said of the vehicle shown in the video released by cops. “That was Vanessa’s car.”

Vanessa never got “into altercations with anybody” or even raised her voice, her sister said.

“She was very excited about the baby,” she added.

Harrison confirmed the details of the incident and the arrest in a tweet.

“On October 23rd in the confines of the 111th precinct, 29-year-old Vanessa Pierre and her unborn baby were found deceased laying facedown on the sidewalk off of Horace Harding Expressway,” Harrison said.

He confirmed that Charles has been “apprehended and arrested for the heinous act of killing Vanessa.”
