Margaret has both practical experience and technical knowledge as a dairy herd manager, in research, and in industry. She began her career as a Herd Management Intern at the Miner Institute and in 2015, Margaret earned her MS in Dairy Science and Ruminant Nutrition from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked as a dairy nutritionist and management consultant for several years before managing a robotic teaching dairy in Iowa. She has served as a Dairy Management Specialist for the Cornell Cooperative Extension Northwest New York Dairy, Livestock and Field Crops Team since 2018, and her teaching and on-farm research efforts center around cow and calf health management and nutrition with a focus on dairy technology. She also has a passion for cow behavior, value-added dairy enterprises including beef x dairy, and agritourism.
