The body of a kindergarten teacher who was reported missing from Jersey City earlier this week has been found in a shallow grave, according to officials.
Police discovered the remains of Luz Hernandez, 33, buried along Central Avenue in Kearny in an empty lot. This is strictly an industrial area in the shadow of the Pulaski Skyway.
Luz Hernandez, 33, was found dead in Kearny.
The Hudson County prosecutor says that police were asked to perform a wellness check at Hernandez’s home in Jersey City. Officials say that while police were at the home, they found some sort of crime scene. Details about this scene were not made clear, but the scene led them to Hernandez’s body.
Hernandez was a teacher at Beloved Community Charter School in Jersey City. She was a mother to three children.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Police say that no arrests have been made.
