We stand in solidarity with Black Lives Matter to denounce police brutality.

We advocate for safe protesting and masks for all during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The right to protest injustice is a basic human right. We deserve to have adequate protection during our demonstrations.” Asadullah Awan, MD, MPH

As healthcare providers, we see the significant impact of institutional racism. Our patients are directly affected by this, especially through health disparities in underserved communities.

We have also seen how COVID-19 disproportionately affects communities of color and raise our voices with protestors to demand change.

At Need Masks Today, we want protestors to have masks so they can safely practice their First Amendment rights during the COVID-19 pandemic.

But we are running out of PPE. We need the Whitehouse to invoke the Defense Production Act (DPA) for the production of PPE. Please join our fight to invoke the DPA!

Our U.S. PPE supply chain is broken. Hospitals and healthcare systems still lack the PPE supplies they need to fight COVID-19. As our nation prepares for a second wave, we still need more PPE to prevent COVID-19 transmission in our hospitals and our communities.

Who We Are

We are a coalition of resident physicians and other medical providers at Yale. We founded this movement to call for adequate PPE for frontline medical providers and the community in the U.S. during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are calling for a national solution to this problem.

Why We’re Concerned

In order to meet demand, many hospitals and healthcare systems, already working overtime to care for their patients fighting COVID-19, are also working overtime to obtain adequate amounts of PPE, which is in scarce supply.

Many healthcare systems are using CDC crisis capacity strategies to help preserve dwindling PPE supplies, and these CDC crisis capacity strategies may increase exposure risks to COVID-19 for both frontline medical providers and their patients.

What You Can Do

We need each of you to spread the word. We need a national solution for the manufacturing and equitable distribution of masks and other PPE. Please call on the White House to invoke the Defense Production Act (DPA) for PPE.

Share Your Story

No matter who you are, please share your experience with PPE. Whether you are a frontline medical provider, a patient, part of the PPE supply chain, an elected official, or a concerned citizen, we want to know your story.
