In this Quarter’s “Growing Careers in Ag & Food Law for Law Students” program, Caleb Pearson will discuss his current role as Senior Counsel at BASF, career path, and offer insight and advice to law students interested in agricultural and food law careers. The presentation will include a question-and-answer opportunity for attendees.

This webinar is designed for law students throughout the United States with interest in pursuing a career in agricultural and food law. The program is part of a partnership between the American Agricultural Law Association (AALA) and the National Agricultural Law Center (NALC) to provide ongoing career development and networking opportunities to law students throughout the United States.  This program is the third in a series of ongoing programs, with additional programs occurring quarterly.

Established in 1981, the AALA serves as the premiere association for agricultural law and policy professionals and fulfills the mission of informing and engaging the law and policy professionals who serve all facets of the agricultural and food communities.  To learn more about AALA, specifically including its student membership opportunities, please visit the AALA website here.  The NALC serves as the nation’s leading source of agricultural and food law research and information. As part of that mission, the NALC has established the Bridges Initiative, a student-focused public-private partnership that offers professional development, networking, and increased legal knowledge to pre-college, undergraduate, and law students interested in agricultural and food law issues and careers.

Presenters:

Caleb Pearson is Senior Counsel in BASF’s North American Legal Department. Prior to joining BASF, Caleb was Assistant General Counsel to CropLife America, the national trade association for the plant science industry, where he managed and advised leadership on an extensive docket of litigation, legislative, and regulatory matters. Caleb previously served in various federal government positions, including as Attorney Advisor to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Caleb Pearson is a graduate of Howard University School of Law and earned a B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University.
