Information for Employees

Mt. San Jacinto College is dedicated to protecting the health and wellbeing of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the communities it serves. To help prevent any further spread of COVID-19, all employees are required to immediately report if they have tested positive for COVID-19 or are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms

Employees who have a Positive Test Result are required to complete the Employee Health Check.

UPDATE: As of 04/10/23, employees are no longer required to complete the Cleared4 check-in. Employees shall self-screen prior to reporting the workplace.  

Upon working on campus, employees must certify the following:

  • You have not been directed to self-isolate or quarantine by a medical professional within the last 10 days.
  • You have not had close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 10 days.
  • You are free of the following COVID-19 symptoms;
  • a fever of 100.4 or higher
  • shortness of breath that cannot be attributed to another known health condition
  • a cough that cannot be attributed to another known health condition
  • a complete loss of smell or taste
  • vomiting or diarrhea
  • a headache or aches throughout my body that cannot be attributed to another health condition.

COVID-19 Cases at MSJC

The MSJC Board of Trustees on August 19, 2021, voted to approve a COVID-19 vaccine and testing program at MSJC for students, faculty, and staff in response to increasing cases of COVID-19 and its variants in our region. This action was approved at the board meeting on September 9, 2021, the board approved updated policies 5210-Communicable Disease (Student Services) and 7330-Communicable Disease (Human Resources).  

These policies sunset on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. The District will no longer require students, faculty, and staff to vaccinate, wear a mask or complete weekly testing of those students, faculty, and staff who were granted exemption.  

However, the District will continue to follow Cal OSHA and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) guidelines for faculty and staff relating to positive cases and close contact exposure. Please refer to COVID-19 Guidance 2024  on the district website. 

Faculty and staff will continue with our current protocols relating to contact tracing and the Cleared4 Daily Check-in system. We want to remind you that if you are experiencing symptoms or are not feeling well, please stay home. Contact your supervisor and Human Resources for further steps.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, please notify your supervisor and do not report to campus. Please complete the Employee Health Check form to obtain guidance and clearance from Human Resources.

Please monitor your symptoms if you have been in close contact with an individual with COVID-19. 

CDPH recommends that you test within 5 days from the date of your last exposure. If you test positive for COVID-19, please complete the Employee Health Check questionnaire.

  • If the employee is at work, send the employee home or refer them to the County locations for testing at gettested.ruhealth.org
  • Inform the employee to complete the Employee Health Check form link here.

As of May 25, 2022, the District will no longer require students, faculty, and staff to vaccinate, wear a mask or complete weekly testing of those students, faculty, and staff who were granted exemption.  However, guidelines are still in effect for those who test positive for COVID-19 and for those who are considered close contacts of an individual with COVID-19. Masks/face coverings are not required on campus. Anyone who feels more comfortable wearing a mask is welcome to do so.

The District may be subject to reinstate requirements for face coverings in certain situations, including during outbreaks.  

Anyone should still feel comfortable wearing masks as desired.
