The Multi-Interprofessional Center for Health Informatics (MICHI) at the University of Texas at Arlington draws from strengths and knowledge of multiple professions and disciplines with the ultimate goal of transitioning from “sick care” to “health care.”

Through strategic partnerships, we use Health Informatics approaches to support data-driven initiatives that impact health and introduce and assess various enabling tools into all aspects of living and learning.

Health Informatics is a continuously evolving discipline at the intersection of data science, health information technology, health information management, and data analytics focused on improving health and healthcare by bringing theory into practice through enabling technologies.

Located in the heart of the University of Texas at Arlington, the Multi-Interprofessional Center for Health Informatics takes pride in educating, applying, and recruiting the next generation of leaders in health informatics and information technology. Our team is led by internationally recognized health informatics leaders, Dr. Marion Ball, Executive Director, and Dr. Gabriela Wilson, Co-Director.

MICHI External Advisory Council

MICHI’s Advisory Council implements the minds and talents of the most influential Health Informatics and Information Management leaders across the globe. Our advisory board members act as ambassadors and advocates for the Center, providing support and advice to MICHI’s leadership, assisting in development of new programs and other initiatives related to the Health Informatics and Information Management field, and identifying best-practice standards that align with new developments in the area.
