ASPIRE on the Road is back! Boston-bound, Spring 2022

Posted by on Friday, February 4, 2022 in Announcements .

The much-anticipated return of ASPIRE on the Road is here!  We are off to Boston, MA  MAy 2-4, 2022!

We will spend time with area biotechnology and pharma companies learning about career paths, hearing from key leadership, touring the facilities, and meeting with alumni.

A maximum of 12 trainees will be selected to participate. Airfare and hotel accommodations will be covered by the ASPIRE Program for those selected to participate.

*We are planning this trip assuming we will be able to safely travel to Boston and that the companies on our agenda will allow visitors at the time of our scheduled trip.  As you know, all of this is subject to change quickly as the pandemic landscape shifts.  If we are unable to do this safely and meet current guidelines, the trip may be canceled.

Co-sponsored by the Dean of Basic Sciences, Larry Marnett, PhD, and Vanderbilt University Development and Alumni Relations.

ASPIRE On the Road is an initiative of the Vanderbilt ASPIRE Program aimed at broadening the training experiences of biomedical PhD graduate students and postdocs by organizing site visits to companies and organizations to help our trainees make well-informed career decisions.

Eligibility Requirements:

1. Applicants must be a current Vanderbilt University or VUMC PhD student or postdoctoral fellow in the biomedical sciences.

2. PhD students must have passed their qualifying exams before the application deadline.
