W7EC Executive Committee Elections - May 5
NOMINATIONS ARE DUE TODAY -- FRIDAY, APRIL 29!
As we have announced in previous General Body meetings, the virtual May General Body Meeting (May 5, from 6:30-8pm) will include our elections via the electronic platform Election Buddy. The following Ward 7 Education Council Executive Committee positions are open:
  • Vice Chair: 2-year term

  • Corresponding Secretary: 2-year term

  • Treasurer: 2-year term

If you are interested in voting or joining the board, you must be a member. Please pay $10 dues by April 29. 
Membership eligibility:
  • Ward 7 resident
  • Parent or guardian of a Ward 7 student
  • Ward 7 School Personnel
  • Ward 7 community-based organization (CBO) representative
  • Ward 7 student (free membership - $0)
To nominate someone for the board, please email ward7edelections@gmail.com. 

All persons interested in joining the board must do the following
  • Confirm nomination via email 

  • Submit 3-5 sentence candidate introduction

  • Pay $10 dues via the Eventbrite link or contact the Nominations Committee to be on ballot

NAASC-DC "Loving Me Girls Conference" -  April 30
The 11th Loving Me Girls Conference, hosted by the D.C. Chapter of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College, will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. EST.  This free virtual conference is designed to empower, inspire, and educate girls in grades 8-12.

Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) 2022 Summer Scholars Program

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) is happy to partner with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to identify twenty (20) Thurgood Marshall College Fund Conservation Interns. 

The opportunity offers paid 8-week internships during the summer of 2022 from June – July with the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and other environmental/conservation NGOs. Click here for more information and to submit an application.
