Do you love heat embossing? Today I have 2 very different cards, but they both feature heat embossing!
But first, this post is part of a Hop celebrating a new release from Altenew so you should have arrived here from TENIA’s wonderful Blog.
Heat embossing is such a versatile technique! My first card came together very quickly and this HUGE floral stamp called Captivating Blooms is perfect for an outline, background effect.
I used the Golden Peach Embossing Powder on the Brushed Rose Cardstock, and doesn’t it shine!
I added a Bold Thanks die with a sub sentiment from the Modern Hello Stamp Set.
My second card uses heat embossing in a different way. This time I heat embossed flowers onto design paper!
I used the Linear Life: Tropical Garden Stamp Set and added a little shading with the Woodless Coloring Pencils.
I love that these flowers have matching Hot Foil Plates and I can’t wait to try them too!

Love the two different ideas for embossing powder. That large background is gorgeous!

I LOVE the golden peach embossing powder on the brushed rose cardstock! This would make an elegant wedding card. Did you have difficulty embossing on the metallic cardstock? Or did you use TONS of anti-static powder? I always make a mess when I try to emboss on slick cardstock 🙁

Hi June, I didn’t use any powder at all and it was easy to do using the MISTI. But the paper was ‘new’ out of the packet and I made sure not to touch it too much. I’m so happy to hear that you liked the result. Hope you have a fabulous day my friend, Tx

That is so nice looking! Did you have any troubles with the metallic paper bubbling from the heat tool?
No problems with cardstock bubbling of at all Roxanne. The heat embossing worked perfectly on the metallic cardstock (though it is a lovely thick card, you could test out any that you have and see how it goes), otherwise I would recommend these ‘brushed’ metallics they are a dream to work with… and to look at lol.
