The Queen's Baton for Birmingham 2022 has been revealed.

The Queen’s Baton will arrive in the Proud Host City of Birmingham on 27 July.

Birmingham 2022 has unveiled the highly-anticipated route that the Queen’s Baton Relay will take in the West Midlands and the rest of the host nation this summer.

Travelling via land, air and sea, more than 180 communities in England will experience the Queen’s Baton on a route spanning 2,500 miles. From energetic cities and historic market towns, to rolling countryside and rugged coastline, the Baton will head as far south as Cornwall and as far north as Northumberland.

The final countdown to the Opening Ceremony will see the Baton spend 11 days travelling through the host region of the West Midlands, before culminating at the Opening Ceremony for Birmingham 2022 on 28 July 2022.

The full route through Birmingham on 27 and 28 July will be announced in due course.

CGI of the Proud Host City display for the Chelsea Flower Show

Birmingham 2022 is the theme for the city council’s Chelsea Flower Show display.

A mixture of flowers grown at the council’s own nurseries and sporting-themed features make up the eye-catching entry, which has an interpretation of the official Games logo as its centerpiece.

It is hoped the display will help secure Birmingham City Council’s tenth consecutive Gold at the world-famous show, which runs from 24 to 28 May.

This year’s 10m x 15m entry showcases some of the city’s iconic landmarks that have a link to the Games, along with highlighting some of the sports that will be contested.
