GILROY, Calif. (KION) To help students affected by the coronavirus pandemic, Gavilan College has created a Student Emergency Fund to help those struggling financially.

The school said students are facing loss of income and loss of access to on-campus services, such as the food pantry and internet access, so the fund started to help pay bills and feed families.

The Gavilan College Educational Foundation created the fund, starting with a $10,000 gift, to provide emergency grants to students with emergency needs, such as help paying for food, rent, medical expenses or transportation.

To contribute to the fund, click here or mail a check to: Gavilan College Educational Foundation, Student Emergency Fund, 5055 Santa Teresa Boulevard, Gilroy, CA 95020.

Gavilan College's main campus is in Gilroy, but it has satellite campuses in Hollister and Morgan Hill.
