Story
Highgate Village Christmas Lights 2020 - URGENT APPEAL FOR FUNDING !
In these uncertain Pandemic times we believe that a glorious Christmas lights display in Highgate Village will raise spirits and put a few smiles on the faces of local families!
Sadly due to exceptional financial pressures on our sponsors and local traders we are therefore left with two options, proceed with the lights and hope we can raise the funds from the wider community or accept that we will not have any festive lights this year.
The unfortunate irony is that if we do not proceed with the lights there is still a contractual financial commitment to our contractors that we would still need to meet. Either way we need your help!
Can this community pull together to finance a reduced display this year?
I have had the privilege and honour of organising the Village Lights for over 20 years and it would be very disappointing to miss out this year especially when we could all do with having our spirits lifted. These days the lights are organised by a voluntary committee of three local tradespeople collectively known as Highgate Festive Events, a non-profit organisation. Our aim is to raise the money needed to fund the lights but if we don’t we will pass any money raised to local Charity, less any contractual costs. If you love the Highgate High Street Christmas lights, please get behind this effort and dig deep to help, every penny really does count!
Donations can also be dropped into Prickett & Ellis 27 Highgate High Street N6 5JT, Winkworth 36 Highgate High Street N6 5JG or Taylor Gibbs 33 Highgate High Street N6 5JT
I would also like to thank my stalwart committee members James Wilkinson (Winkworth) & Charlotte Bourne (Taylor Gibbs) for their tireless contribution.
Many thanks in advance for your generosity (I hope!)
