Description
The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) published Version 2 of The United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) in July of 2021 with new Data Elements and Classed highlighted in the ONC Health IT Standards Bulletin, Issue 2021-3 July 2021.
The January 2022 Ballot will be primarily limited to USCDI V2 updates and it is expected that the ONC will release new versions annually, published here: The United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI).
Each year, where new USCDI data elements or classes map to already existing US Core profiles, attributes or elements, a mapping table (or other structure) will be included identifying appropriate existing US Core FHIR representation.
Where new design is needed, new US Core FHIR Profiles with examples will be created.
This PSS covers current and future US Core FHIR updates, allowing for future USCDI updates and ITEMS that meet criteria defined in the Future of US Core in the US Core Implementation guide
