Hello there!! Who’s ready for some new stamps from Altenew!?? Me, me, me! Altenew’s Bold & Beautiful Collection is released today, and of course it wouldn’t be an Altenew release if there wasn’t a big celebratory blog hop! You should have been sent my way by Michelle Burnier – if not, head on over to the Altenew Card Blog to start at the start!

There are some real goodies in today’s release, (and you may have seen me sneak peek one of them in my Stylish Cardmaking Techniques with Jenny video over on the YouTube channel last Wednesday!). That sneak peek was the One Go Birthday Greetings – love this sentiment set. You can stamp it once (or heat emboss it like I did with Rose GolD Crisp Embossing Powder) and then die cut it once with the die, and Bingo! Tons of good to go sentiments for all your card creations!

My first card features the new Intricate Mandala Stencil to create a simple one layer card. I overlaid the stencil onto the upper left corner of a panel of white cardstock. I blended Baby Pink and Wisteria Crisp Dye Inks over the top of the stencil, fading it out towards the edges, overlapping the colors. I also smushed the inks onto my craft mat and picked them up with a wet paint brush and added a few coordinating splatters. I also added splatters with Antique Gold and Soft Lilac Metallic Shimmer Spray.

I adhered one of my sentiments mentioned earlier and adhered a few pretty coordinating sequins to finish this fun and quick one layer card.

My next card features the Dazzling Dahlia stamp set. This is such a cute little floral set, and white it does have a Coloring Stencil to help color it in, I wanted to use my Artist Markers to color it in – I used the Island Garden and Space Garden sets of markers.

I stamped the images on X-Press It cardstock in Permanent Black ink (great for alcohol markers) and colored it in. I used a block shading style – first using the lighter color to shade the entire petal, then adding in the darkest color in a block, then the next color in another block, moving up the petal (you can see the blocks if you look closely) without shading. I like the modern depth this this gives.

I die cut out the pieces, also coloring a leaf and the butterfly and added white gel pen touches here and there. I arranged them onto a white background, dry embossed with the Tiled Chevron 3D Embossing Folder (from an earlier release). I mounted one of my sentiments and added a few drops of clear Nuvo Drops to look like dew drops on the flower to finish.

I had a left over stamped bird from the Dazzling Dahlia, so I colored it in with English Country Garden Artist Markers and die cut it out. I decided to create a blocky background using the new Linear Spiral background stamp set. I heat embossed it with Rose Gold embossing powder onto pale pink cardstock and trimmed it out. I then stamped it twice more – once onto white cardstock with Blush ink, and once onto white cardstock with Jet Black ink. I then trimmed it pieces from the white backgrounds and adhered them with foam tape here and there to the pink background for a fun modern paper pieced look.

I mounted the background onto a white note card leaving a slim border. For the sentiment, I heat embossed the “hello you’ from Dazzling Dahlia in White Crisp Embossing Ink onto Jet Black cardstock, fussy cut it out and popped it up on the background, then adhering the hummingbird. I finished with a few gemstones here and there.

My final card features the new Happy Flowers stamp set. Yey more layering stamps – I’ve missed them. This is a gorgeous set and super easy to line up. I used Pastel Sunrise and Canyon Clay on the two layers for the florals, for the centres I used Butternut and Pumpkin Pie. For the leaves I used Sand Dunes Rocky Shore and Mocha.

I die cut all the pieces out and set them aside. For my background I used the Intricate Mandala Stencil and dry embossed it onto a panel of white cardstock by running through my die cutting machine using an embossing plate, embossing tan mat (then the stencil and cardstock). I added a stamped sentiment from the set onto the bottom corder of the panel in Obsidian Pigment ink, and then adhered my flowers with foam tape. I added a few splatters in Pastel Sunrise ink and scattered some coordinating sequins to finish.
