Hi Everyone! It’s time for a new Craft-A-Flower release from Altenew today and this one is so cool – not just a floral but it a gorgeous Lilac paired with butterflies so you can create a little Butterfly Bush scene! You should have been sent my way today from the Altenew Card Blog as part of today’s inspiration blog hop – there are prizes to be won so stay tuned to later in the post, as well as for the next stop on the hop.

I dove in to my gradient cardstock to create my card, using the Red Sunset collection for my lilacs (why not!) Each lilac has 3 layers, and the Red Sunset set has 4 layers – for my base two layers I used the two reds in the set. Then for my top layer, I used the remaining two different colors one on each floral, creating two lilacs for my card. I also cut the leaves using green scraps from my scrap drawer and kraft for the stalks.

The butterflies were die cut from white cardstock, and I then ink blended Baby Pink, and Pastel Sunrise on the tips of the butterflies’ wings and added some gold gel pen detail by hand.

My background is created using Moonrock cardstock, dry embossed with Organic Linen embossing folder. I adhered the main flowers at an angle with foam tape, then adhered the stems and leaves with glue, trimming off any excess.

For my sentiment, I used a scrap of cardstock colored with Pastel Sunrise for my sentiment. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Magnificent Branch Build-A-Garden in Antique Gold embossing powder and popped it up in the top right. The butterflies were popped up on the flowers and I finished with a few Antique Gold Sequins here and there.
