Alix Madigan '84
Independent Producer

Alix Madigan '84 returns to the Hop with 1982 (Nov 16), an Arabic language film written and directed by Oualid Mouaness, and starring Nadine Labaki. Her producing credits include The Lie, White Bird in a Blizzard, Laggies and Winter's Bone, which received four Academy Award nominations, including best picture. She worked at Anonymous Content since its inception and is currently an independent producer and a member of The Academy.

 

Prof. Noah Tsika '05
CUNY Queens College

Noah Tsika '05 is a media critic and historian. His work explores the politics of representation in both commercial and noncommercial media, emphasizing race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality and nationality. He is the author of four books: Gods and Monsters: A Queer Film Classic, Nollywood Stars: Media and Migration in West Africa and the Diaspora, Pink 2.0: Encoding Queer Cinema on the Internet, and Traumatic Imprints: Cinema, Military Psychiatry, and the Aftermath of War. 

Allie Young '13
Harness

Allie Young '13 is a citizen of the Diné Nation from the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. She is a storyteller whose mission is to increase authentic representation of Native Americans in TV, film and mainstream media. Currently, she works at Harness, a nonprofit organization which works at the intersection of entertainment and social justice, strategically utilizing the platforms of major influencers to amplify issues of marginalized communities.
