Throughout May, we reflect on the ways our country's character has been shaped by AA and NHPI communities and honor the generations of advocates who paved the way for progress. Today, President Joe Biden shared a message with all those celebrating 25 years since the creation of the White House Initiative and President’s Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders: I send my warmest greetings to all those attending the White House Initiative and the President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders' (AA and NHPIs) 25th anniversary celebration. Events like these represent America at its best – people coming together to celebrate our time-honored traditions while looking forward to the incredible opportunities of the future. By encouraging us to reflect on the ways our country's character has been shaped by AA and NHPI communities, the White House Initiative and the President's Advisory Commission on AA and NHPIs help remind us of the importance of honoring and celebrating our roots no matter where we are. Since it was established a quarter century ago, the White House Initiative and the President's Advisory Commission on AA and NHPIs have stood as beacons of hope and possibility for these proud Americans and our entire Nation. Under my Administration, their work is making sure AA and NHPI people are seen and heard at the highest levels of the Federal Government by working to advance equity, opportunity, and justice for AA and NHPI communities. The work of those at the Initiative and the Commission has helped pave the way for the development of our first-ever National Strategy to Advance Equity, Justice, and Opportunity for AA and NHPI Communities, and I am grateful for their efforts. As we celebrate this milestone anniversary, it is my hope that you are filled with pride in all the progress the White House Initiative and the President's Advisory Commission on AA and NHPIs have achieved. May you continue strengthening the bonds that unite us as a country for many years to come. #LastingLegacies #AANHPIHM
