A new political poll shows a continuing downward trend for the Labour Party.
The poll conducted by Curia for the Taxpayers' Union lobbying group between 1 to 6 December had Labour falling 2.2 percentage points on the previous month to 33.1 percent, while National rose 1.8 percentage points to 39.4 percent.
ACT and the Green Party were on 10.4 percent and 8.1 percent (up 0.5 and 0.3 respectively), with Te Pāti Māori on 3.5 percent (up 1.9) and NZ First on 2.9 percent (down 0.9).
The result would leave National with 51 seats (up two) and ACT on 13 - giving the centre-right bloc 64 seats and comfortably able to form a government.
Ardern dropped five points in net favourability from +8 percent to a new low of +3 percent, while National's Christopher Luxon rose from -3 percent to +2 percent; however, undecided voters far preferred Ardern with +1 percent favourability compared to Luxon's -29 percent.
The poll had a sample size of 1000, with 600 responses collected by phone and 400 by online panel.
