Waxwings in Lewiston

A small flock of cedar waxwings is currently cleaning out a crabapple tree on the Bates College campus between Merrill gym and the ice rink. I did not see any Bahamians but sky is overcast and it is hard to tell.

Wow, a "Bahamian Waxwing" would, I think, be a  new bird to science.  Keep your eyes peeled. 😉  I wouldn't mind a little  Bahamian weather right now. 


I saw several mixed flocks of Cedar Waxwings and Robins in the Waterville/Fairfield area yesterday, as well as a flock in Farmington.  The Farmington flock had at least 2 Bohemian Waxwings, the first I've seen this winter.

Bahamian waxwings’ wings are tipped in a variety of pastel blues, pinks, and aquamarine…
