We're Puzzled goes to Globals!

We are Destination Imagination team We're Puzzled, 3 middle schoolers from the Leonardo Da Vinci school in Green Bay, Wisconsin. We took on the technical challenge in the Destination Imagination competition and qualified for Globals Finals in Kansas City from May 20 - 23.

While we are thrilled to have qualified and to have been recognized with the Da Vinci award for having a unique approach to solving the Challenge, for risk taking and for outstanding creativity at our State competition, we need your support to get to Kansas City. Our goal is to raise $7,000 to cover the $5,500 registration fee and help with transportation, lodging and meals expenses. The school cannot provide any funding.

What is Destination Imagination?

What did we have to do?

We chose the Technical Challenge and had to create a puzzle, 2 puzzle solvers, add in 2 "enhancements" to highlight our interests, then tie it all together with a story. There were lots of requirements for each of these elements. We worked hard for over 3 months to create our solution and present it at the regional and State competitions. Adults are not allowed to help.

What did we learn?

Many things, such as how to work as a team, the importance of reading instructions very carefully, the value of prototyping and testing, and sometimes you just have to start over.

How big a deal is "Globals"?

We will be the first team ever from our school to attend. More than 2,000 people are expected from 10 countries. They will be taking over the Kansas City, MO convention center for 4 days. Check out more: https://globalfinals.org/
