Dang Lyrics
(Da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
(Da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
[Verse 1]
Pull up like a shipwreck in reverse, yeah, I do, yeah, I do
Maybe it's forever, maybe it's just shampoo
Dang
Mary Poppins opened up the purse like I do, yeah, I do
Who's a pretty city kitty sippin' on chartreuse?
Dang
[Refrain]
It's a shame, yeah
It's a shame
I spilled the milk on the bed
It's my face
It's just a face, yeah
With the cheeks turnin' red
[Chorus]
(Da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
Tell me more
(Da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
Tell me more
Ba (Dang), ba-ba-ba (Dang), ba-ba-ba (Dang)
Tell me more
Ba (Dang), ba-ba-ba (Dang), ba-ba-ba-ba (Dang)
[Verse 2]
Always running late but, boy, I'm on time for you
Yeah, I do
Careful what you wish for 'cause it might just come true
Dang
[Refrain]
It's a shame, yeah
It's a shame
I spilled the milk on the bed
It's my face
It's just a face, yeah
With the cheeks turnin' red
[Bridge]
Aah
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah, ah-ah, ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)
Dang
[Chorus]
(Da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
Tell me more
(Da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
(Ah-da-da-da-da) Dang
About
“Dang” is a track from the bonus edition of Caroline Polachek’s second studio album, Desire, I Want To Turn Into You. Caroline Polachek, in collaboration with her long-term collaborator Danny L Harle, expands her avant-pop vision—featuring more radical vocal experiments, unusual narratives, and metallic drum machine modules.
Interestingly, the title “Dang” emotionally contrasts with her 2019 release, “Pang”. “Pang” also served as the title for her debut album, while “Dang” was initially considered to be the title for her sophomore album before settling on “Desire”.
Upon the release of “Dang”, Caroline premiered the track live on The Late Show. This performance was notably unique, integrating TED-talk-style elements such as presentation slides and a specially crafted stage set. Visually, it is a continuation of the theological, contemporary and quirky aesthetics of the original album.
